After my father died, it took me some time before I could return to the empty apartment, his home – the place where I grew up.
A thick layer of white dust had covered the dark and heavy cabinet, brought from Poland. Crocheted napkins and stands with family photographs were spread on the surfaces. By carefully lifting them, a negative image created by the dust, appeared.

Since that magical moment I began noticing and documenting marks of the passing of time on different surfaces and on organic material. I call these marks “Traces of Life”.
